I hate Telstra

I had a phone service with Telstra at my old address. When I moved I vowed to never use their services again. Yes, I know my money eventually gets to them, and yes I know they get more money wholesaling their services then they do retailing them.

Over the last week I have been trying to disconnect my old telephone service simply because I'm getting bills for a service I never use.

My first call - The automated answering system hung up on me.
T: Hi welcome to Telstra. In a few words please state the reason for your call.
Me: Disconnection
T: That would be the erea that handles disconn..
Me: Yes
T: Is the call in relation to the number you are calling from now?
Me: No
T: Ok, what is the number?
Me: 07 yada yada yada
T: Is the number 07 yada yada yada
Me: Yes
T: Please hold while I transfer your call.... I am you are we are Australian.. *beep* *beep* *beep*

Second call - The automated system waited a little longer before hanging up on me
T: Hi welcome to Telstra. In a few words please state the reason for your call.
Me: Disconnection
T: That would be the erea that handles disconn..
Me: Yes
T: Is the call in relation to the number you are calling from now?

Me: 07 yada yada yada
T: Is the number 07 yada yada yada
Me: Yes
T: Please hold while I transfer your call.... I am you are we are Australian... *music*.... *beep* *beep* *beep*
2 days later

My third call - I got to speak to a person, a real person. They promptly transferred me to another real person, so far so good. This guy then asked my what my enquiry was about. I replied and he put me on hold for 15 minutes. I hung up. **** them.

My fourth call - The automated system hung up on me again
My fifth call - I told the automated system I would like to make a complaint, I got put through fairly quickly. I told the kind lady all the problems I have been having. She found it rather funny, but helped in putting me through (ya. On hold again) to another dude who was able to disconnect my phone after a range of silly questions.
