Hyper-V on M2N SLI Deluxe using AM2 CPU

At first I thought I wasn't going to be able to run Hyper-V on my older desktop PC because I kept getting the "Hypervisor service is not running error". I didn't give up though, the help text said I should change some settings in my BIOS, settings I didn't have. So, I ran a BIOS update and the "Enable AMD Virtualisation" option was listed under CPU in the BIOS, I enabled it, and now I can run Hyper-V virtual machines.

  1. I know this is reaching back to an old post -- but -- with your M2N-SLI board, do you have a problem with 2008 Server/Hyper-V server shutting down? I just installed basically the same combination, updated the bios and all, and hyper-V is installed, VM's are installed and working, but if the host shuts down e.g. for updates, it hangs with the 'shutting Down' message.
