Advantages of Windows Powershell

Windows Powershell is the next big thing for Windows admins. If you're and IT admin and you're not using Windows Powershell you need to start. Windows Powershell has some obvious advantages but there are some advantages you might not have thought about:
  • Information - Windows Powershell is the easiest way to get the information you need when you need it most
  • Repetition - Windows Powershell allows you to automate repetitive tasks, this leads me to my next point
  • Consistency - If you have a set procedure for completing a task, use Windows Powershell to make sure you never miss a step, automate as much as you can, and have Powershell prompt you for the stuff that can't be automated
  • Communication - Have Powershell let everyone in your team know when a new application is installed, or when a new user is added to your organisation via email
