Xbox 360 vs PS3 (The real cost)

Alright, I'm going to compare both base systems available in Australia and I'm going to use Australian prices. First the Xbox, the base model is now the Xbox 360 Arcade.

Xbox 360 Arcade
Price: $399.00
Specs and Contents:
1 x Wireless Controller
1 x AV Cable
1 x 256 Mb Memory Card
5 x free arcade games
1 x 100Mbit Ethernet (no cable)

Wait that's it? Ok let's move onto the PlayStation 3. The base model PS3 is the new 40GB edition.

PlayStation 3 40GB
1 x Wireless Controller
1 x AV Cable
1 x Blu-ray Disc drive
1 x 40GB Hard Drive
1 x Wifi b/g
1 x Gigabit Ethernet (and the cable)

Pretty amazing features, how much does all that cost?

$699.95.
$700?!?!! That's crazy!

Ok, let's get the Xbox 360 Arcade up to speed with the PS3 features and see how much it costs, just so we can compare.

Xbox 360 Arcade ($399.00) with:
1 x wifi $169.95
1 x 20GB Hard Drive (only half what it needs to be, I know)
$169.95.

Ok, what's the new total? $737.00.

Haha that's only $30 more than the PS3, no difference there...

Did you want to play your PS3 or Xbox 360 online?

Yeah for sure.

Ok, on PS3 it's free, completely free.

On Xbox 360?

It costs $80 per year unfortunately...

That's why I bought a PS3!
